Coimbatore : Expressing his grief over the death of 44 Jawans who were killed in a deadly terrorist attack in Pulwama, Kashmir, Senior leader of Communist Party of India, R. Nallakannu urged that whenever there is a threat to the nation's freedom and safety, the nation should retaliate.

Addressing a huge gathering at the CPI's Arasiyal Eluchi Manaadu held at CODISSIA grounds in Coimbatore, the Senior leader slammed the state government for staying 'passive' in initiating action against those who plunder natural resources but react 'active' in transferring honest IAS officers who probe such plunders.

"There are lot of unresolved issues in the State. The prolonged silence and callousness exhibited by the government in resolving such issues is very disappointing. Though there are many such issues that can be cited, the present day issue is 'Where is Mukilan?'. It's been more than a week since Mukilan has gone missing. But the government has not moved an inch to trace his whereabouts", alleged Nallakannu.

He also added that "Mukilan is a social activist who had fought against offenders who loot natural resources and anti-people policies. He has faced more than 100 legal cases during his fight against the government. CPI will organise a protest against the issue on March 2".
